ACLS

At the conclusion of the presentation, the learner should be able to:

  1. Utilize advanced airway management techniques.
  2. Recognize shockable and non-shockable cardiac rhythms.
  3. Properly administer emergency medications.
  4. Properly apply AHA algorithms.
  5. Actively lead or properly participate in emergency medical codes.

 

BLS

At the conclusion of the presentation, the learner should be able to:

  1. Recognize a Sudden Cardiac Arrest event and respond appropriately for adults, children and infants. 
  2. Perform high quality CPR.
  3. Operate an AED (automatic external defibrillator) as a lone rescuer and in a group. 
  4. Identify and manage the choking individual.

 

PALS

At the conclusion of the presentation, the learner should be able to:

  1. Identify, evaluate, and intervene in Pediatric Emergency events. 
  2. Perform the AHA method of initial impression, primary assessment, secondary assessment, and tertiary testing. 
  3. Identify methods of early recognition of critical medical situations and rapid intervention for the pediatric patient.
